Job Summary
The Storeperson is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the workshop stores function, including inventory control, material handling, and the receiving and dispatch of equipment, spare parts, and consumables. This role helps ensure materials are accurately tracked, properly stored, and readily available to support workshop and project operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day issuing of spare parts and consumables within the workshop.
- Maintain accurate stock control through the company inventory management system for workshop equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
- Receive, inspect, and assist with the loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing goods
- Ensure all materials, spare parts, and consumables are stored in accordance with company procedures and storage requirements.
- Prepare, pack, and coordinate equipment, spare parts, and consumables for shipment to project sites.
- Perform daily and weekly cycle counts and assist with periodic inventory checks as required.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Stop work and report any unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents in the workplace.
- Support workshop and operational teams with general stores and logistics activities as required.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role.
Job Specific Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid US driver’s license required.
- Forklift certification or training preferred.
Work Experience Required:
- Experience working within a warehouse, workshop, industrial, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience using inventory management systems such as SAP preferred.
- Experience with material handling equipment and general stock control activities preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of inventory control, stock rotation, and stores processes.
- Basic knowledge of transportation and shipping requirements for materials and equipment.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Basic understanding of QHSE requirements and safe working practices within an industrial environment.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
