Join our team as a Health Center Patient Registrar, where you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
As a Patient Registrar, you will serve as the face of our health center—managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, and responding to inquiries with professionalism and empathy. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is committed to helping patients navigate their care smoothly.
Greet patients warmly and begin the check-in process using our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
Verify and update demographic and insurance information
Collect copays and document all monetary transactions accurately
Support check-out processes, including referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling follow-up appointments
Answer incoming calls and schedule appointments in the appropriate service categories
Respond to patient concerns, create cases, and route them to the correct team
Determine urgency level for patient issues
Complete follow-up calls to patients and external providers
Document all interactions in real time or shortly afterward
Participate in staff development days and required meetings
Adhere to facility safety policies, OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality requirements
Complete incident reports when indicated
Maintain professionalism and punctuality, including at off-site events
Promote a respectful, welcoming environment for all patients and staff
Work closely with the Practice Supervisor and Director of Practice Management to communicate concerns
Maintain consistent attendance and preparedness at the start of each shift
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
Ability to manage high workflow and troubleshoot issues
Preferred:
This role involves primarily sedentary work but may require occasional standing, walking, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Repetitive hand and wrist motion and the ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone are essential.
