Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by supervising Speech-Language Pathologists
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to children under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist with speech, language, hearing, and communication screenings and assessments (non-interpretive)
- Prepare and maintain therapy materials, equipment, and assistive communication devices
- Document client progress and maintain accurate, timely clinical records
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, BCBAs, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, RBTs, and families to support each child's individualized goals
- Foster a safe, engaging, and welcoming therapy environment
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Qualifications
- Completion of an ASHA-approved Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related associate degree
- Current Florida SLPA license or certification, as required
- Experience working with children preferred; experience supporting children with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices preferred
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- CPR certification may be required
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to complete a Level II background screening and pre-employment drug screening
