Friends of Cyrus II is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative HR leader to serve as our Vice President of Human Resources. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead all aspects of human resources with a focus on building a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-focused workforce across our Burlington County headquarters and regional locations.
The Vice President of Human Resources will serve as a part of the senior leadership team, developing HR strategy that supports organizational goals, employee relations and well-being, and regulatory excellence in the evolving landscape of developmental disability services in New Jersey.
- Provide leadership for the full scope of human resources including talent management, benefits, compensation, compliance, recruitment, learning & development, and total rewards.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to anticipate and address workforce trends and risks.
- Oversee HR systems, data integrity, and workforce metrics relevant to program growth and retention.
- Drive recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain direct support professionals and leadership talent across Central and South Jersey locations.
- Develop and lead the employee relations initiatives.
- Ensure a positive onboarding and employee experience from offer through full integration.
- Lead workforce planning efforts to match staffing with program needs
- Serve as the key escalation point for complex employee relations matters, investigations, corrective actions and employee concerns.
- Promote a culture of dignity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Coach managers on people practices — including performance management, conflict resolution, and corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with New Jersey and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) rules as they affect workforce requirements, including background checks, training, staffing ratios, and incident-related HR processes.
- Partner with program leadership to maintain compliance on licensure and Medicaid standards.
Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources experience, with a significant portion in a supervisory / leadership capacity.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional designation preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading HR strategy in a complex, multi-site organization.
- Deep knowledge of NJ employment laws, benefit compliance, and HR best practices.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive employee situations with integrity and sound judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to organizational sites throughout Central and South Jersey as required.
- Familiarity with New Jersey Division of Developmentalregulations preferred.
- Experience in human services, healthcare, or related sectors preferred.
