Full Time Biller/Coder needed for our Same-Day Primary Care office in Carteret, NJ.
Medical Biller and Coder Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Medical Biller familiar with Primary Care and the assignment of ICD-10, HCPCS/CPT procedure codes and modifiers (when applicable). Knowledge of denials and appeals for insurance claims is a must. There will be a large focus on primary care in addition to workers’ compensation and occupational medicine. Salary will commensurate with experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Verify insurance information
– Follow up with patients for completeness and necessary medical records
– Coding and posting patient charges
– Forward bills/forms to insurance carriers
– Track the progress of payments and issue collection letters or agency referrals
– Follow up with denials and appeals with payers
– Review EOBs and adjusting modifiers
– Assist with patient inquiries
– Review charts and run reports
Job Requirements:
Education: CPC, CCS and ICD-10 certified preferred
Minimum 3 years of primary care practice coding and billing experience required
Strong Anatomy/Physiology, Medical Terminology and insurance skills
Excellent communication, follow up and interpersonal skills.
