Overview:
The EHS Specialist is responsible for consistently carrying out and promoting the EHS program of Mobis Alabama, training Team Members on applicable EHS-related matters, ensuring the company is in compliance with EHS laws and regulations, participating in audits and incident investigations, and carrying out resulting corrective actions.
Responsibilities:

Evaluate EHS programs, procedures, and operations for compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Promote implementation of health and wellness programs for all Mobis Alabama Team Members

Assess workplace environments, equipment, and practices to identify hazards and complete new equipment checklists

Ensure full compliance with EHS standards and government regulations

Conduct hazard and operational control process assessments

Recommend measures to help protect Team Members from potentially hazardous working conditions, methods, processes, or materials

Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes of accidents

Determine corrective actions to reduce the likelihood of accidents in the future

Complete reports and analyze incidents to identify trends

Conduct Safety Management Systems (SMS) audits, Environmental Management Systems (EMS) audits, and/or monthly EHS inspections and assist in corrective actions

Train Team Members on proper use of powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, tuggers, overhead cranes, and related industrial equipment

Conduct EHS orientation for new Team Members

Administer, coordinate, and comply with all EHS guidelines

Prompt, regular, predictable attendance

Physical presence at work during all scheduled work hours

Overtime and weekend work as required

All other job duties as assigned

Assist the EHS department with headquarters reports, audits, campaigns, and other assignments (interpret Korean instructions for English speaking team)

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
-
Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems

Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Good written and verbal communication skills

Ability to speak and write fluently in both Korean and English
Preferred Education & Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 or more years of experience in an EHS-related position in a manufacturing environment OR
-
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or related field plus 1 or more years of experience in an EHS-related position in a manufacturing environment

Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
-
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
-
CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Working Conditions

30% office, 70% production floor
-
Overtime as needed
-
If an emergency occurs, TM may need to stay until issue is resolved
-
Will be required to fill in on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift due to EHS manning shortages/requirements
