Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Ironworker and Rigger to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining structural steel, pipe, and heavy load-bearing frameworks on various construction sites. Your expertise in rigging, crane operation, and materials handling will ensure safe and efficient project execution. Duties
- Install, assemble, and secure structural steel components using rigging techniques and load securing methods to ensure stability during construction.
- Operate boom trucks, forklifts, hydraulic equipment, and other material handling machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct load handling procedures in crane operations, including lifting, positioning, and securing heavy materials according to safety regulations.
- Follow strict safety equipment protocols and construction site safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Handle shipping and receiving tasks related to materials delivery, ensuring proper documentation and storage of materials on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on lifting equipment and heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to execute complex rigging setups for various construction phases while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction workplace safety regulations with a focus on heavy equipment operation and rigging procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, cranes (including overhead cranes), load handling procedures in crane operations, and material handling equipment operation.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, hydraulic systems, and other lifting equipment safely.
- Strong understanding of load securing rigging methods and implementation of OSHA safety standards in construction environments.
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations with a commitment to safety protocol adherence at all times.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics related to steel installation and rigging plans.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the capacity to communicate effectively in fast-paced construction settings.
