The Opportunity
Ado Ato Pictures is an Emmy Award-winning studio making work across film, immersive experience, public art, animation, interactive media, and emerging technology. Our work has landed at Netflix, Hulu, PBS FRONTLINE, the Sundance Institute, MoMA, MIT, IDFA, and beyond.
We operate internationally between Europe and the United States, and we're looking for an intern who wants real, hands-on experience — not busywork — inside a studio that's actually doing the work.
This is not a "shadow someone and take notes" internship. You'll be given real responsibility fast: managing projects, coordinating people, and working directly with the founder, Emmy Award-winning director Tamara Shogaolu, across everything from live productions to fundraising to how the studio actually makes money across different creative mediums.
You need to be organized, sharp, and able to own things without being micromanaged. In exchange, you'll get a level of access and responsibility most internships don't offer — and experience that translates whether or not you end up staying with us long-term.
What You'll Do
- Support studio operations across active projects — film, immersive, and public art productions — logistics, scheduling, vendor and partner coordination, day-to-day problem-solving
- Manage projects end-to-end: track deliverables, keep timelines on schedule, flag what's falling behind before it becomes a problem
- Coordinate and eventually oversee other interns and freelance collaborators
- Support business development — research partners, prep outreach, help build relationships that turn into real opportunities
- Support fundraising: research funders, help prepare materials, track the mechanics of active fundraising efforts
- Dig into how the studio makes and grows revenue across different creative mediums — help think through and optimize monetization models across film, immersive, public art, and emerging formats
- Manage the studio's website and marketing projects, keeping our public presence current and coordinated
- Support financial administration on live projects — budget tracking, invoice coordination (not bookkeeping)
- Build and improve internal systems and documentation — if something's inefficient or missing, you're expected to notice and fix it, not wait to be told
Who We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, arts administration, media/entertainment, communications, or a related field — or equivalent experience outside the classroom
- Highly organized, with the instinct to build structure and process without needing to be asked
- Comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast — early-stage studio work is not always fully defined
- Strong written and verbal communicator, comfortable working across cultures and time zones
- Genuinely curious about how creative businesses actually work — the production side and the business side
- Ready to take ownership and be accountable for real outcomes, not just tasks
You don't need years of experience. You need to be sharp, reliable, and hungry to learn by doing.
Why This Internship Is Different
- International scope. You'll work across both the European and US markets, not just one — a rare thing to get exposure to as an intern.
- Breadth of medium. Film, immersive experience, public art, animation, interactive media, AI — you'll touch more formats here than most creative jobs offer in years.
- Creative business, not just creative production. You'll get real exposure to how a creative company builds revenue and monetizes work across mediums — a skill set most creative internships never touch.
- Direct access to the founder. You'll work closely with Tamara on production, fundraising, partnerships, and strategy — not three layers removed from where decisions get made.
- Real management experience. As the team grows, you'll coordinate and manage interns and freelancers — actual people-management experience, not just task execution.
- A resume line that means something. Whether or not this turns into a longer-term role with us, you'll leave with concrete production, operations, and business experience at an internationally recognized studio.
