Hydro Vac Technician:
A vacuum truck technician's job description focuses on the operations and maintenance of specialized vacuum trucks used for waste removal and industrial cleaning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operating the truck powerful vacuum system
- Connecting and disconnecting hoses
- Performing pre-trip and post trip inspections to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs on truck and its system.
Requirements:
- Safely and efficiently operate a vacuum truck to collect and transport various liquid and solid waste materials.
- Perform industrial cleaning and waste removal services including cleaning tanks, pipelines and other equipment.
- Assist with connecting hoses, setting up equipment and securing cargo for safe transport of hazardous material.
- Adhere to all company policies, environmental regulations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols, especially when dealing with potentially hazardous waste.
- The ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs), work in confined spaces, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to interact with client, supervisors and crew members.
- Proven experience operating a vacuum truck or performing industrial cleaning and hole trenching is preferred.
