CNC Machine Operator
Central Machining, Inc. (CMI) is looking for a dependable and motivated CNC Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a machine shop environment and be comfortable operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or waterjet equipment.
We are currently hiring for both day and night shift positions. Applicants must be available to work the shift for which they are applying.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality parts, pays attention to detail, follows instructions, and is willing to learn and grow their machining skills.
What You'll Do
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders and waterjet equipment.
- Load and unload materials and finished parts
- Follow job travelers, work instructions, and production requirements
- Read and understand basic blueprints and drawings
- Verify part numbers, materials, and quantities before and during production
- Monitor machines during operation and recognize potential problems
- Make basic machine or tooling adjustments as trained
- Perform in-process and finished-part inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Maintain accurate production and job documentation
- Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
- Communicate quality or production issues to the supervisor
- Work as part of a team to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred
- CNC machine operating experience preferred
- Experience with CNC mills, CNC lathes, or waterjet equipment is a plus
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and drawings
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment
- Good attention to detail
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn additional machines and machining processes

The right candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, quality-minded, and willing to learn. Experience with multiple types of CNC equipment is highly valued.
Candidates with experience operating mills, lathes, and/or waterjet equipment are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
Day Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PMFriday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
Night Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:00 AM
