Job Overview
We are a metal stud and acoustical contractor seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team, driving the success of commercial construction projects through precise and comprehensive cost analysis. As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate project budgets, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers. Your expertise will ensure competitive pricing, effective cost control, and seamless project planning from inception to completion. Duties
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
- Utilize estimating software such as On-Screen Take Off, Quick Bid and other construction management tools to develop detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from blueprints using On-Screen Take Off, Quick Bid and spreadsheets to determine precise material quantities.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
- Manage project budgets by tracking costs, analyzing variances, and implementing effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include detailed scope of work, pricing strategies, and risk assessments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to clarify project requirements and ensure alignment on estimates.
- Review construction contracts and manage documentation related to project scope, change orders, and cost adjustments.
- Support project management efforts by providing accurate estimates that facilitate scheduling, resource allocation, and overall project planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as On-Screen Take Off, Quick Bid, along with Microsoft Office tools including Excel for spreadsheets and cost analysis.
- Exceptional ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Solid understanding of construction management software systems for budgeting, scheduling, and document control.
- Excellent negotiation skills for engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
- Demonstrated experience in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets.
- Knowledge of contracts, project management principles, and construction site safety standards.
- Effective client communication skills with the ability to present estimates clearly and confidently.
- Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
