Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, ensuring that our dietary department operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in supporting meal preparation and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Duties
- Assist cooks and dietary aides in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food handling meets health regulations.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
- Support the cooking staff during busy service times by providing timely assistance.
- Participate in cleaning schedules to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Adhere to all dietary guidelines and assist in meal preparation for special dietary needs when required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required.
