Company Overview:
ChocXO Chocolatier LLC is a fast-growing, premium North American chocolate manufacturer redefining how modern food manufacturing is built and scaled. Privately owned, well-capitalized, and founder-led, we operate at the intersection of branded CPG, contract manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability — with the freedom to invest long-term and do things the right way.
In the past year alone, we have:
- Scaled from one manufacturing site to three
- Expanded our brand portfolio, including the mission-driven Endangered Species Chocolate
- Invested heavily in new capacity, automation, and enterprise-grade systems
- Begun construction on a next-generation manufacturing campus in Rockwall, Texas
Our manufacturing footprint includes:
- Delta, British Columbia – 60,000 sq. ft. fully automated, SQF Level 3 flagship
- Indianapolis, Indiana – 35,000 sq. ft. facility, home of Endangered Species Chocolate
- Rockwall, Texas – 225,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution complex opening in 2026
We are now entering the most important phase of our growth: institutionalizing excellence. This is the shift from growth powered by heroics to growth powered by systems, discipline, and repeatability.
Reports to: VP Sales
The Role:
National Accounts Manager
Chocxo/Endangered Species Chocolate is hiring a National Accounts Manager based in Rockwall, Texas. You will be the commercial owner of your customers end to end: annual planning, joint business planning, promotional strategy, new item launches, and day-to-day execution with brokers and distributors for Chocxo and Endangered Species Chocolate.
Key Responsibilities
· Own the full P&L for an assigned portfolio of national and regional accounts — volume, revenue, trade spend, and contribution margin.
· Build and execute annual joint business plans with each key customer, including promotional calendars, distribution targets, and merchandising commitments.
· Own trade fund planning and post-event ROI analysis; ensure deductions are validated, resolved, and reconciled with Finance.
· Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly volume forecasts, partnering with Demand Planning and Operations to align supply with customer commitments.
· Negotiate pricing, promotional terms, and annual agreements within approved margin guardrails.
· Translate category and consumer data (syndicated, retailer POS, panel) into selling stories that grow the category, not just our share.
· Partner with Marketing, R&D, and Operations on customer-specific programs, seasonal items, and private label or co-man opportunities.
What Success Looks Like
· Assigned accounts hit or exceed annual volume, revenue, and contribution margin targets.
· Trade spend stays within plan and delivers measurable, positive event ROI.
· Distribution grows year over year — new items placed; existing items defended at line review.
· Forecast accuracy is consistently within agreed tolerance, so Operations can plan production with confidence.
· Deductions and pricing disputes are resolved promptly and do not age.
Required Experience & Profile
Experience
· 7+ years of CPG sales experience, with at least 3 years managing national or key retail accounts directly.
· Demonstrated success selling into grocery, mass, club, natural, or e-commerce channels; food or confection experience strongly preferred.
· Proven track record owning a P&L and managing trade funds to plan.
· Experience leading line reviews, joint business planning, and annual negotiations with major retailers.
· Experience managing brokers and distributors.
· Strong Excel and presentation skills; comfort building models and customer decks from scratch.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Leadership Attributes
· Owns the number — treats the account P&L as a business, not a quota.
· Translates category and consumer data into a persuasive, customer-specific selling story.
· Builds durable customer relationships rather than chasing one-off volume.
· Collaborative across Marketing, Finance, and Operations — sells what the plant can deliver.
· Disciplined and organized — accurate forecasts, clean trade math, no surprises.
Location
· Role is based at our Rockwall, Texas facility
· Regular presence in the office is expected.
