Green Bird Landscaping Inc. is seeking a dedicated Operational Manager to oversee and coordinate all field operations and crew performance in CAPE COD. You'll work directly with the CEO and the process manager. It's a strategic position for the growth and consolidation of our company. As Operational Manager, you will be the backbone of our field operations, your leadership will be fundamental to the implementation and maintenance of the "Green Bird Standard," which aims for maximum efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Must be fluent in English, Portuguese, or Spanish.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to
- Field Supervision: Lead and supervise 4-6 field crew leaders daily to ensure properties are serviced according to scheduled routes and quality standards.
- Compliance Management: Ensure 100% compliance with punch-in/out protocols, job site photos, and crew notes.
- Operational Oversight: Enforce field policies and manage supplies and equipment to ensure crews have necessary tools without interruption.
- Technical Support: Act as the primary point of contact for Crew Leaders, resolving technical questions and providing on-site support.
- Maintenance Auditing: Physically audit vehicle maintenance logs and equipment inspections every morning to report repairs before breakdowns occur.
- Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports regarding crew productivity, job-site profitability, and operational efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Crew Leader, Field Supervisor, or Operational Manager in the landscaping industry.
- Leadership: Strong ability to manage diverse personalities with firmness, respect, emotional intelligence, and extreme patience.
- Adaptability: Excellent time management skills with the ability to reorganize routes on the fly due to weather or mechanical issues.
- Communication: Clear communication skills to bridge the gap between field crews and the office.
- Aesthetic Eye: An obsession with detail and "High-End" aesthetics.
Success Metrics
- Achieving 90% software compliance (no forgotten punch-ins).
- Significant reduction in equipment damage caused by negligence.
- Ensuring crew leaders report on-site problems within a 2-hour window.
- Standardization of work execution across all client properties.
Job Details
- Job Type: Full-time (90-day probationary contract followed by permanent employment).
- Schedule: Monday to Saturday.
- Location: In-person (Cape Cod).
- Benefits:* Paid Vacation (1 week after 1–3 years; 2 weeks after 4+ years).
