We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team and help deliver top-tier telecommunications and networking solutions. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including fiber optic cabling, structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6), CCTV cameras, VoIP telephony, Ethernet networks, and Cisco or Juniper routers.
- Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure high-quality data transmission.
- Conduct network wiring and cabling tasks following schematics and industry standards for telecommunications systems.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network testers, and RF testers to identify issues and verify system performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform repairs on telecommunication devices using power tools and hand tools.
- Test telecommunications systems with specialized testing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide field service support by visiting client sites to install or repair communication systems while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with low-voltage electrical wiring, structured cabling installation, and network wiring including Cat5/Cat6 cables.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet protocols, and TCP/IP configurations.
- Familiarity with telecommunications equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and VoIP setups.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for system installation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic system installation is highly desirable.
- Competence in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, cable testers, RF testers, and telecommunication testing equipment.
- Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems relevant to low-voltage applications along with safety procedures for electrical work.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
