We are looking for an Asset Management & Facilities Technician to join our team!
Downstreet is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to support the asset management and facilities operations. This position will manage a diverse array of technical and administrative tasks to help ensure program compliance, quality asset management, and effective maintenance of Downstreet properties. This position requires strong administrative judgment, excellent follow-through, and the ability to coordinate across multiple systems, priorities, and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support for Downstreet’s asset management and maintenance operations.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for vendors, partners, funders across Downstreet’s portfolio and systems.
- Support asset management and maintenance processes through accurate scheduling, tracking, documentation, and follow-up.
- Schedule, coordinate and participate in property site visits, tours and inspections, and document outcomes verbally, in writing and via photography.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records related to properties, work orders, inspections, vendor coordination, and other operational needs.
- Assist with preparation, collection, review, and tracking of forms, notices, applications, reports, and other required documentation.
- Help track deadlines, recurring tasks, reporting needs, and required documentation to support high-quality property and asset management operations.
- Draft reports to internal and external stakeholders, utilizing Microsoft office and software and database systems.
- Support coordination by assisting with bidding, requests for proposals, work order communication, vendor scheduling, inspection preparation, and follow-up documentation.
- Assist with office operations, including filing, supply ordering, mail, scanning, data entry, meeting preparation, and general administrative support.
- Help identify opportunities to improve administrative systems, workflows, communication tools, and documentation practices.
- Handle sensitive resident, and organizational information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Experience and Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent life and professional experience.
- Experience in administrative support, property management, affordable housing, nonprofit administration, compliance, customer service, or office coordination strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and communication channels simultaneously.
- Comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, electronic files, email, and standard office technology. Proficiency in excel is especially desirable.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented when working with individuals experiencing stress, housing instability, or urgent needs.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
- This position is primarily based in Downstreet’s Lamoille offices, with frequent travel throughout the full Downstreet territory, and requires a driver’s license, as well as a reliable and insured vehicle.
- Ability to complete property tours and inspections in person, including navigating stairs and walking on uneven terrain.
- Ability to occasionally assist visitors and move materials within the office.

Job Type: Full-time, on site in Lamoille County, Vermont.
Salary: $50,000 annually
