Job Description
Hammond's Junk Removal & Rental is looking for a dependable, hardworking Junk Removal Crew Leader to join our growing team. This is a leadership position that requires someone who can safely operate a pickup truck while towing a dump trailer, lead jobs from start to finish, provide customer estimates, and represent our company professionally.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, solving problems, working outdoors, and taking pride in delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a pickup truck while towing a dump trailer
- Properly hook up, maneuver, and back trailers into tight spaces
- Lead junk removal jobs efficiently and professionally
- Load and unload furniture, appliances, construction debris, yard waste, and other materials
- Deliver and pick up trailers for rental and self-load customers
- Unload trailers at local landfills and recycling facilities
- Provide on-site estimates and quote jobs
- Schedule jobs and communicate with customers professionally
- Answer customer phone calls, text messages, and inquiries
- Help advertise and promote the business
- Sort recyclable materials and transport scrap to recycling yards
- Keep trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Safely operate hand trucks, dollies, and common power tools
- Perform basic trailer maintenance such as changing tires (tire plugging experience is strongly preferred)
- Handle cash and company funds in a trustworthy and professional manner
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable towing and maneuvering a trailer
- Able to lift and move heavy furniture and debris throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, and rainy weather
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of power tools and equipment
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience towing trailers
- Experience in junk removal, moving, landscaping, construction, or similar labor work
- Ability to plug trailer tires
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Sales or estimating experience
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, work ethic, skills, and qualifications.
Applicants with experience in trailer towing, customer service, estimating, leadership, and labor may qualify for higher pay.
