Position Summary:
The Router position is responsible for creating routes, managing routes, calculating delivery routes, times of deliveries, and making adjustments for drivers and customers. The Router role reports to the Transportation Manager and normally works a Sunday through Thursday shift. This position utilizes various programs in order to complete the job correctly and requires strong attention to detail. You will also be required to interact with various other EVCO employees such as our drivers, sales team, warehouse and customer service personnel.
Position Responsibilities:
- Establish delivery routes that are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines. Ensure delivery costs are held to company expected run rated year over year.
- Establish routing procedures and schedules which allow for optimum use of personnel and equipment. This keeps a strong emphasis on driver safety.
- Perform routing maintenance daily to ensure all locations have accurate, timely, and up-to-date information regarding delivery. This may include checking delivery days, time windows, service time types, service time overrides, account types, meal breaks, route start/stop times, etc.
- Perform recap of previous days actual routing results, make changes to standard routes if required.
- Distribute all necessary paperwork to the drivers if they are not familiar with the route assigned.
- Produce driver manifest report and distribute nightly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- 1-3 years distribution, logistics, transportation or related work experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, including running various software applications.
- Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
