Dandies Marshmallow Machine Operator — Overnight Shift

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Machine Operator to support the overnight production of Dandies Marshmallows. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and cleaning marshmallow production and packaging equipment while ensuring each product meets our standards for quality, food safety, and consistency.
The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and able to work independently during overnight hours.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor marshmallow production and packaging equipment.
- Follow production schedules, recipes, operating procedures, and product specifications.
- Inspect products for proper size, shape, texture, and overall quality.
- Make approved machine adjustments to maintain consistent production.
- Load ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies as needed.
- Record production quantities, downtime, waste, quality checks, and equipment issues accurately.
- Identify equipment problems and notify the supervisor or maintenance team promptly.
- Perform changeovers between products, sizes.
- Clean and sanitize machines, tools, and production areas according to established procedures.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, food-safety requirements, allergen controls, and workplace safety rules.
- Reduce product waste and help meet production and efficiency goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Communicate production status and unresolved issues during shift handoffs.
- Assist coworkers and perform other production duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous machine-operating, food-production, packaging, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, production specifications, and safety procedures.
- Basic math, measurement, and recordkeeping skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work the full 9:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m. schedule.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Willingness to follow sanitation, hygiene, and protective-equipment requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and in a food-production environment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in areas that may be warm, cool, noisy, or humid.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
