Position Summary
Allied Electrical Contractors is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, client relations, and overall project financial performance while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with owners, general contractors, field supervision, vendors, and internal staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial electrical construction projects ranging from tenant improvements to large-scale ground-up projects.
- Review contracts, plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, manpower forecasts, and procurement plans.
- Track project costs, labor productivity, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Prepare and negotiate change order pricing and scope revisions.
- Coordinate material procurement and subcontractor activities.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing project coordination meetings.
- Maintain communication with owners, architects, engineers, and general contractors.
- Support field foremen and superintendents with project execution.
- Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
- Review and approve vendor invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and project billings.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, company policies, and project specifications.
- Oversee project closeout, punch lists, as-built documentation, and final billing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing commercial electrical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and scheduling.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Experience with project management software is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical field experience as an electrician, leadman, or foreman.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license (preferred but not required).
- Experience with Design-Build projects.
- Experience managing projects valued from $500,000 to $10 million+.
