Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Supervisor to lead our behavioral health team in delivering exceptional mental health and behavioral care services. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
The Clinical Supervisor will serve as the primary day-to-day leadership presence for the clinical team, providing guidance and support with client crises, AMA prevention and blocking, relapse response, staff scheduling, PTO coordination, and general clinical management decisions. This position will work closely with the Clinical Director and Program Director to maintain program quality, staff accountability, and effective daily operations.

Duties
- Provide clinical supervision to therapists, counselors, and clinical support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in behavioral health, mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and clinical supervision standards.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day leadership presence for the clinical team.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to clinical staff regarding client care, documentation, scheduling, and daily clinical operations.
- Assist clinical staff with client crises, behavioral escalations, safety concerns, crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
- Support AMA prevention and blocking efforts by meeting with clients who are considering leaving treatment and helping identify barriers to continued care.
- Assist with relapse identification and response, including clinical review, client engagement, treatment recommendations, documentation, and communication with the treatment team.
- Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning for clients with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, relapse prevention, and psychotherapy.
- Manage crisis intervention situations with professionalism and compassion, including crisis management and crisis response protocols.
- Manage clinical team schedules, group coverage, intake assignments, caseload distribution, and other clinical responsibilities.
- Coordinate clinical staff PTO requests, callout coverage, and schedule changes in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Program Director.
- Make routine clinical and departmental management decisions with guidance from the Clinical Director and Program Director.
- Monitor clinical staff attendance, productivity, schedule adherence, documentation completion, and fulfillment of assigned responsibilities.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support to clinical team members.
- Assist the Clinical Director and Program Director with staff performance concerns, corrective guidance, and accountability measures.
- Facilitate or participate in clinical meetings, treatment team meetings, case consultations, and staff development activities.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical records, patient care notes, treatment plans, progress reports, assessments, and discharge summaries in electronic health record systems compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct case management activities, including client communication, working with families, coordinating services, and assisting with transitions between levels of care.
- Monitor overall program quality, clinical service delivery, client engagement, treatment outcomes, and adherence to program expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, staff communication, crisis response, relapse management, client retention, and overall program effectiveness.
- Assist with the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support quality assurance activities, internal audits, accreditation preparation, regulatory compliance, incident reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Program Director, medical team, operations team, admissions, utilization review, and other departments to promote continuity of care.
- Maintain compliance with medical terminology standards, diagnostic coding requirements, ethical standards, payer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Communicate significant client, staffing, safety, compliance, or program quality concerns to the Clinical Director and Program Director.
Experience
- Proven experience working with adults experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
- Demonstrated expertise in behavioral health modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, social work practices, addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, and crisis intervention.
- Prior supervisory or management experience leading clinical teams within mental health, substance use, or behavioral health treatment settings.
- Strong background in crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, suicide risk response, AMA prevention, client retention, and relapse response.
- Experience managing clinical schedules, caseload assignments, group coverage, staff PTO, and daily clinical operations.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an accessible and effective leadership presence for clinical staff.
- Experience making routine clinical and program management decisions while appropriately escalating significant concerns to senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge of program quality, clinical documentation standards, treatment planning, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation and electronic health records management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to mental health care, substance use treatment, and behavioral health services.
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds to deliver culturally competent care.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and develop clinically appropriate treatment recommendations.
- Experience with PHP, IOP, outpatient, residential, detoxification, or other structured behavioral health programs is preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
