This poisiton performs a variety of administrative and records related tasks within the police department.
Primary Function
The position has responsibility for Police Department functions of an administrative nature that require the use of independent judgment to prepare correspondence, reports, files, and other documents or to perform basic research and analysis of data. The employee also performs other duties within the department as needed, including dispatching calls, fingerprinting, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (will vary by assignment)
· Prepare correspondence, reports, files, and other documents
· Perform basic research and analysis of data
· Office management duties including record-keeping, reporting, data entry, filing, storage, and retrieval operations
· Provide administrative support and clerical support to Department officers and employees, including transcribing reports, preparing correspondence and reports, filing, copying, and mail distribution
· Answer incoming phone calls, greets the public, assisting and providing referrals to other departments or staff as needed
· Compile data and information to prepare complex documents, statistical, graphic and other reports
· Enter data into and retrieve information from the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and Idaho Law Enforcement Teletype System (ILETS)
Acceptable Experience and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- General law enforcement clerical or administrative experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain post hire: Idaho notary public certification, NCIC, NIBRS, and ILETS certification
- Proficiency with personal computer and Microsoft Office Suite

· Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to operate standard office equipment and a personal computer and to receive, package, store, and retrieve physical property
· Sufficient personal mobility, strength, agility, and flexibility, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to handle, move, and store large and/or heavy physical property which may require reaching, stooping, and carrying articles up to 50 pounds and to work in an office and storage facility environment.
Screening
· Applicants will be screened for initial qualifications
· Initial round of interviews will be conducted at the end of September
· Selected applicant will undergo a background check due to the sensitive information they will be handling each day

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
