DRG Concepts is a growing hospitality group known for delivering elevated dining experiences across multiple high-end restaurant concepts. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Executive Chef to lead one of our upscale sushi and Japanese dining venues, focused on quality, creativity, and consistency.
Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Executive Chef to oversee all kitchen operations and lead our culinary team. This role is ideal for a chef with a strong sushi background who thrives in a refined, dinner-only environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing kitchen team
- Execute and evolve a refined sushi and Japanese-inspired menu
- Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation
Operations Management
- Oversee all back-of-house operations including prep, service, and sanitation
- Manage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and retain top culinary talent
- Build a positive, disciplined, and professional kitchen culture
- Manage scheduling and labor to align with business needs
Financial Performance
- Monitor and control food cost, waste, and overall kitchen expenses
- Partner with leadership on menu pricing and cost analysis
- Drive efficiency without compromising quality
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef experience in upscale or fine dining
- Strong foundation in sushi and Japanese cuisine required
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Experience managing high-volume, quality-driven kitchens
- Solid understanding of food cost controls and kitchen financials
- ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
