Inside Property Claims Adjuster
Seeking a candidate to fill an adjuster position within a fast paced insurance claims environment to investigate, evaluate and resolve primarily property claims while ensuring timely service to policyholders and claimants. To be successful in this role a candidate must be able to think on their feet, be organized and decisive, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be empathic, have relationship building skills, the ability to negotiate, and work with technology. The candidate would preferably have two or more years of experience in property insurance industry or a construction related field. Entry level training is available to the right candidate. This is a hybrid role based out of our home office in Flint Township.

- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: in person at home office location
Principal Accountabilities Include:
· Communicate with customers to facilitate the claims process and resolve claims in a timely manner. Most communication is by phone with some in person field meetings.
· Study insurance policies, endorsements and forms to develop foundational knowledge on company insurance products.
· Promptly investigate assigned claims to determine coverage and /or liability while identifying and preserving salvage and subrogation opportunities.
· Evaluate and settle claims in a fair and equitable manner.
· Document all claim files in our internal Claims Management system in a prompt, clear and consistent manner.
· Adopt and leverage emerging claims technology, virtual estimating platforms, and AI-driven workflows to streamline coverage evaluations, damage assessments, and cycle times.
· Utilize all appropriate loss and expense savings programs and direct the activities of outside vendors to ensure that only necessary and cost effective work is accomplished to indemnify PSM insured(s).
· Establish and maintain appropriate reserves.
· Coordinate relevant claim information with other departments to avoid future losses and better manage PSM’s current book of business.
· Periodically help support our on call - 24 hours/7 days a week claim service for policyholder emergencies.
· As needed, assist Large Loss Team with total loss inventories in the field.
· Respond to inquiries and questions from our agency partners and assist other PSM team members as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing technology and new tools
· Self-starter who can effectively manage the workload remotely while exhibiting good judgment
· Bachelor degree or equivalent P&C claims training/experience preferred
· Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required
· Interest in bringing ideas to the team that assist PSM in continuous improvements with our claim handling and prompt customer care
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
