Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible School Bus Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and courteous transportation of students to their educational destinations. Duties
- Safely operate large school buses according to traffic laws, vehicle codes, and school policies
- Assist students with boarding, disembarking, and wheelchair or mobility device assistance as needed
- Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents and conduct emergency stop procedures when necessary
- Maintain discipline and promote positive behavior management onboard the bus
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, report mechanical issues promptly, and ensure vehicle cleanliness and safety compliance
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students using clear English or bilingual skills when appropriate
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions to ensure timely arrivals
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL B) with a school bus endorsement.
- Proven experience driving large school buses; experience working with children is highly preferred
- Knowledge of traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation
- First aid certification including CPR is strongly preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform mechanical knowledge tasks related to vehicle maintenance
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Strong understanding of student discipline, behavior management, and childcare principles
- Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and handle stressful situations calmly and effectively

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
