TomKats is looking for a Sous Chef to join our leadership team. We are a group of high energy, creative folks with a passion for hospitality. As the Sous Chef, ensuring quality guest experiences and supporting our hard-working team members will be your top priorities.
Experience in a high volume or fine dining restaurant setting will set you up for success in this position. The ability to run service smoothly by adapting to the needs of the kitchen in the moment and remaining calm under pressure is essential.
Work-life balance is very important to us at TomKats, Sous Chefs are scheduled an average of 45-50 hours per week. We are closed for several holidays including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, and offer a generous PTO program. Qualifications include:
- Minimum of two years management experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant setting. Wood-fire grill experience is a plus!
- Good listener who will consider employee feedback thoughtfully and respectfully.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic restaurant environment, work a line or grill cook station when needed (a sense of humor goes a long way!).
- P+L knowledge and cost control abilities.
- The ability to implement existing systems or create new ones, and not need to be micro-managed.
- Hold your team accountable and maintain a sense of pride in our kitchen.
- An eye for organization and restaurant maintenance. Must feel comfortable making equipment maintenance calls to keep our restaurant functional and your staff supported.
- Strong knowledge of local health codes is essential. We have an amazing track record with health scores and need to keep it up!
- Passion for creating beautiful nightly specials.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
