GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role also emphasizes cost accounting, inventory management, and production-related financial analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare timely, accurate and understandable monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership
Cost Accounting & Inventory Control
- Oversee standard costing, job costing, and variance analysis
- Monitor raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods inventory
- Partner with operations to control manufacturing costs
- Ensure vendor pricing and terms remain market competitive
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting process – including periodic updates
- Develop financial forecasts and scenario modeling
- Track performance against budget and explain variances
- Provide analysis and recommendations to meet financial commitments
- Work with Sales, Operations and HR leaders to understand the budget, set targets and make financially sound decisions
Strategic Planning
· Work with General Manager and leadership team to identify profitable growth strategies
· Evaluate decisions including staffing levels, pricing, investments, market participation
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial processes
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and audits
- Coordinate with external auditors
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks – financial, operational, market related
Team Leadership
- Supervise accounting staff
- Develop and improve accounting processes and systems
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital
- Optimize cash conversion cycle - accounts receivable, payable and inventory
Compliance & Documentation:
· Adhere to company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Ensure Company complies with tax laws, financial regulations and reporting requirements
· Ensure all quality and safety procedures are followed consistently.
· Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Other Responsibilities:
· Regular, reliable on-site attendance.
· Working 45 hours or more each week as a salaried employee.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
· 5–10+ years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing
· Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP ERP, Oracle NetSuite)
· Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
· Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
· Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
· Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
· Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
· Bi-lingual is a plus (English-Spanish)
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Pay: $80,465.65 - $96,904.87 per year
