Position Summary
Cobbs Creek Healthcare is seeking a Real-World Evidence (RWE) / Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Scientist to support research and consulting projects for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. This role is intended for a PhD-level candidate with strong training in real-world evidence, epidemiology, health economics, public health, pharmaceutical outcomes research, or health outcomes research.
The selected candidate will contribute to the design, execution, interpretation, and communication of real-world evidence and HEOR studies using healthcare data sources such as administrative claims, electronic health records, registries, published literature, and other observational data sources.
This position is best suited for a candidate who has hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data, understands observational research methods, and can communicate complex methods and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Support RWE and HEOR studies for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients using real-world healthcare data, especially claims and/or EHR data.
- Contribute to study design, protocol development, cohort definition, outcome and covariate selection, literature review, and interpretation of results.
- Support analyses related to treatment patterns, disease burden, comparative effectiveness, healthcare resource utilization, costs, patient outcomes, and value evidence.
- Prepare and review client-ready deliverables, including reports, slide decks, tables, figures, abstracts, manuscripts, and other research materials.
- Communicate research methods, assumptions, limitations, and key findings clearly to internal teams and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- PhD required in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research, Health Outcomes Research, or Public Health with a focus in epidemiology, health economics, or outcomes research.
- Hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data, especially claims and/or EHR data.
- Experience supporting RWE or HEOR research, including study design, protocol development, literature review, cohort definition, outcome/covariate selection, and interpretation of results.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical methods and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical consulting, life sciences research, HEOR, epidemiology, public health research, market access, or healthcare analytics.
- Familiarity with comparative effectiveness research, burden-of-illness studies, treatment pattern analyses, healthcare resource utilization studies, cost analyses, or patient outcomes research.
- Working knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, Stata, or similar software.
Additional Requirements
- This position may require approximately 10% to 20% travel for client meetings, internal meetings, or business needs.
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a consulting environment with shifting priorities and client-driven timelines.
- This is a primarily onsite position, with an expectation of working in the office three days per week.
