Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Automation & Controls Engineer to drive innovation and excellence in industrial automation systems. Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering, programming, and commissioning of industrial robotic systems, including UR, ABB, Fanuc robots and other automation equipment.
- Develop and refine control strategies utilizing programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and human-machine interface (HMI) configurations to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Design and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and AutoCAD or SolidWorks drawings to support system integration and troubleshooting.
- Implement robotics engineering solutions with a focus on robot programming, schematic reading, and troubleshooting industrial robotic systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for automation-related issues, applying lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new tooling, fixtures, and machining processes that align with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex industrial equipment failures through detailed schematics reading, electrical troubleshooting, and engineering problem-solving techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing methodologies and robotics engineering best practices to optimize automation workflows.
Skills
- Extensive experience with Fanuc robotic systems and other industrial robotic platforms.
- Strong knowledge of robotics programming including robot motion control and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in PLC programming using ladder logic (LD) and other engineering programming languages.
- Deep understanding of industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or Modbus for system communication.
- Mechanical knowledge including blueprint reading, tooling design, machining processes, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Electrical schematic reading and interpretation skills for complex control panel wiring and system integration.
- Hands-on experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on automation solutions.
- Familiarity with vision inspection systems for quality assurance applications in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using structured troubleshooting methods; skilled in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for system design documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as CGMP regulations relevant to pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing settings.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
