Job Overview
We are seeking a Cook/Manager for the 2026-2027 school year at Child In Our Hands Child Care and St. John's Lutheran Church. This part time position is during the school year, but may include summer hours as an option.
Duties include:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
- Able to follow recipes and portion regulations for all age groups of the Child & Adult Food Program
- Menu planning, ensuring a variety of nutritious options and dietary needs are available.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food service areas.
- Order food and supplies along with monitoring inventory.
- Ensure all food is stored properly and safely, following health regulations.
- Supervise staff to assist and distribute meals.
- Training and supervision of kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and kitchen protocols.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, but not required, particularly in meal preparation or as a dietary aide.
- Familiarity with menu planning and knowledge of dietary restrictions is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A passion for cooking and creating meals.
- On the job training is provided.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
