American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Nights position requiring stroke certification and NIHSS certification.

unit: 25-bed Medical unit with 11 private and 7 semi-private rooms

Patient population primarily includes stroke patients, post-operative surgical cases, and medically complex adult patients

Cares for patients with conditions such as amputations, chest tubes, feeding tubes, heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, CIWA, AKI, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights, with occasional 1:1 total care assignments

Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week

Requires working every other weekend and every other holiday

Active IL RN license required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Stroke certification required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Provide direct nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population including stroke, post-surgical, and comfort/hospice care patients
