Job Overview
Duties of the Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Technician may include inspection, repairs, and replacement as necessary of minor mechanical and electrical components, utilizing working knowledge of electrical, breakers, outlets, switches. Also requires some knowledge of furnaces, AC equipment, lighting, plumbing and appliance repair support, as necessary. Performs annual home/building compliance inspection services as directed. Performs related tasks as assigned falling within the purview of the Managing Supervisor.
This is a Full-time (40 hrs/wk) union position (Laborer’s Local 324 AFL-CIO) with full benefit packages available through Laborer's Local 324 AFL-CIO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspection, repairs, and replacement as necessary of minor mechanical and electrical components
- Utilizing working knowledge of electrical, breakers, outlets, switches
- Requires high degree of knowledge of appliance repair support, furnaces, lighting, and plumbing, as necessary.
- Good communication skills including ability to accurately complete service orders using smartphone and computer.
- Communicates internally with supervisor and others regarding status of work orders, maintenance requirements, etc.
- Performs annual home/building compliance inspection services as directed.
- Performs related tasks as assigned falling within the purview of the Managing Supervisor.
- Performing quality checks on plumbing and electrical systems
- Checking and responding to security and safety issues
- Testing and recommending new maintenance products
- Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers
- Keeping documents of inspections and problems;
- Keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies
- Handle On Call Duties Whenever Necessary
- Perform service order requests and use NetSuite Mobile App
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate clearly in business English.
- Ability to safely and effectively use a smartphone to communicate, and basic computer skills.
- Appliance Repair/Troubleshooting 2 years (Preferred)
- Plumbing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Electrical: 2 years (Preferred)
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- OSHA certification or equivalent preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license
Additional Requirements:
· Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
· Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required.
· Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment background check, drug test and physical capabilities assessment.
· Previous employment must be verifiable.
Pay: From $31.74 per hour
