Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Cook food items with precision, ensuring proper presentation, flavor, and temperature
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Support dishwashing duties by cleaning dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools efficiently
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene compliance
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient inventory management as needed
- Support catering events or special meal preparations when required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and quality control
- Adhere to all safety protocols and sanitation regulations throughout all kitchen activities
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is advantageous
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with restaurant or food industry environments demonstrating adaptability
- Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving processes
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
