Important: We are a group private practice of clinical neuropsychologists who specialize in the assessment of individuals with various neurological and mental health problems. Our practice has one current opening for a neuropsychology technician. The technician will administer and score neuropsychological tests under close supervision from our neuropsychologists. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for someone interested in working directly with patients, and who seeks or aspires to a career in the health care service industry or neurosciences (clinical psychology, neuropsychology, medicine, or public health). Extensive training in test administration and scoring will occur after the hire date.
Please apply only if you are specifically interested in this position. Please do not fax, send postal mail, or hand deliver any materials. Please do not phone our office unless we have called you for an interview. More information about our practice may be obtained from our web site (https://houston-npa.com/). We look forward to hearing from individuals who have a deep interest in working with patients!
The position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or one of the natural sciences. Individuals who are fluent in English and Spanish are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based in our practice, which has two office locations (2950 Cullen Parkway and 11211 Katy Freeway). This position requires the candidate to work at both locations. We encourage applications from recent college graduates who seek at least one full year of experience before applying to graduate or medical school. Since the technician's work requires considerable face-to-face time with patients, good communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential. Compassion and the ability to work well with individuals who may be hard of hearing, cognitively impaired, or emotionally unstable are necessary. Excellent attention to detail, including the ability to accurately record responses and score standardized psychological tests, are also very important for this position. Additionally, we seek a natural, relaxed, and friendly demeanor.
