Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide/Caregiver to provide essential support to a client in their home settings. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our client by assisting them with daily activities and personal care. Your responsibilities will include observing patients’ conditions, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Position to start ASAP. Hours are: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 5pm-8pm and Saturday 4pm-8pm. Split shift for morning will be added for more hours. Just looking for the right candidate, preferably someone in the Bay Port, MI or surrounding area.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions.
- Provide personal care including catheter care, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and hospice care as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in the client’s living space, including laundry and light housekeeping duties.
- Administer medications as prescribed while ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Utilize EMR or EHR systems for accurate record-keeping and communication with healthcare teams.
- Support clients with mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status.
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response procedures.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Proficiency in cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs.
- Capability to manage long-term care responsibilities effectively.
