Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet dietary specifications and promote residents’ health and enjoyment
- Assist with food production, including cooking, portioning, and plating dishes efficiently and accurately
- Ensure all food handling, sanitation, and safety standards are strictly followed to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
- Support food service operations by bussing tables, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Assist with meal delivery or serving to residents, ensuring prompt and courteous service
- Follow proper food safety protocols during storage, preparation, and disposal of food items
- Help with inventory management by receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and reporting shortages or issues
Requirements
- Previous experience in nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices essential for meal production in healthcare settings
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and food safety regulations to ensure compliance at all times
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
- Excellent customer service skills to interact courteously with residents and staff alike
- Basic understanding of sanitation standards, cleaning procedures, and kitchen safety protocols
- Previous dietary aide or cooking experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
