Overview
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves providing roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, and transportation services with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, driving expertise, and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Prior experience with automotive diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and operating flatbed tow trucks is highly desirable. Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches
- Perform basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with clients during roadside assistance or vehicle recovery
- Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, including documentation of vehicle condition and recovery details
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during operations
- Assist in vehicle repair or mechanical troubleshooting when necessary, leveraging automotive repair skills
- Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally, resolving issues with customers or other parties effectively
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and diagnostics
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, especially flatbed models, with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred
- Experience with manual transmissions and automotive systems such as automotive diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or winches
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving required
- Knowledge of conflict management techniques to handle difficult situations calmly
- Mechanical experience or mechanic background is highly advantageous
- Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining safety standards
- Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients during stressful situations
