UNDERGROUND SEWER/WATER FOREMAN - $45.00 to $50.00/HR
WAGE = $45.00 to $50.00/Hr. for Indianapolis Area (No Saturday or Sunday work)
This is a year-round position at $45.00 to $50.00/hr. with benefits including paid health insurance, matching 401K, paid vacation, life insurance, paid holidays and year-end bonus. This position includes a take-home work truck and company phone. Wage will be commensurate with experience. A pre-employment drug screening is required prior to hire.
The Underground Utility Pipe Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising field crew installing municipal underground utility infrastructure, including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main systems. This position oversees daily jobsite operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and municipal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct pipe crew on the installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main systems.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and grade stakes.
- Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility representatives.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and local municipality standards.
- Oversee the use of excavation equipment, trench protection systems, and lasers.
- Maintain production schedules while ensuring quality workmanship and proper installation techniques.
- Perform utility layout, verify elevations, and ensure proper pipe alignment and grade.
- Complete daily reports, as-builts, track labor and equipment, and communicate project progress and field issues.
- Identify and resolve field challenges to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with experience leading crews.
- Strong knowledge of municipal storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main installation practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, calculate grades, and understand utility elevations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills, and team oriented.
- Valid driver's license.
