Living Hope Preschool offers children a preschool experience that will prepare them not only for kindergarten, but for life.
Living Hope Preschool’s goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, enthusiastic, and inquisitive learners. They are encouraged to think for themselves, make decisions, develop problem-solving skills, and communicate their ideas.
General Qualifications:
- The Lead Teacher must be experienced in working with preschoolers. Must align with with Living Hope Preschool's mission, vision, strategy, and doctrine. A sincere love for children and a commitment to teaching are essential. A college degree is preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma and at least two (2) years of teaching experience with preschoolers is required. The Lead Teacher is responsible to the Preschool Administrator and the Administrative Board.
Principle function:
Assist the Preschool Administrator in the ongoing activities of the Preschool Program and serve as a teacher in keeping with the policies established by the Administrative Board.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a Christian environment and provide activities that will promote each child’s physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual growth.
- Work according to the provided schedule and maintain punctuality.
- Plan, supervise, and implement the daily teaching program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the preschool program. Teachers must follow the established curriculum guidelines.
- Give each child the attention needed to assure his or her best welfare. This includes needs related to learning experiences, eating, toileting, playing working, health care and safety.
- Annually attend two different workshops, seminars, or on-line classes to enhance skills.
- Ensure that cleaning products are stored safely and in locked cabinets. Ensure that all snack foods are stored in airtight containers. Thoroughly clean and organize cabinets and classroom at the end of the year, after the children have left for the summer.
- Plan daily, weekly, monthly, curriculum schedules. Use the Living Hope church resource library and computer with Canva access, to enhance calendars, newsletters, and memos to parents.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Conduct conferences as needed, with each child’s parent(s).
- Notify the Preschool Administrator of any needed supplies, repairs, or materials. If purchasing something for your class with expectation of reimbursement, you must first get approval from the Preschool Administrator.
- Enrich daily programs in a variety of ways, using the best methods of teaching to enhance the learning experience.
- Remain with the children at all times to ensure a safe and happy atmosphere.
- Work cohesively with the assigned assistant, give direction, and include the assistant in planning and creative activities.
- Complete CPR/AED/FIRST AID training and provide a copy of the certification to the Preschool Administrator to be placed in your personnel file.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
