Job Overview
As a Telecom Lineman at Stark Fiber, you will perform hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of strand and fiber infrastructure, working alongside a team of linemen and ground hands. You will ensure all work adheres to National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards and meets our high standards for safety and quality. Past or current power lineman experience is a valuable asset for pole placement tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct new strand and fiber optic lines, including lashing, pole transfers, pole removal, and pole placement.
- Traffic Control Flagging.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on telecom infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity.
- Work collaboratively with a team of linemen and ground hands to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Adhere to NESC standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Operate equipment such as bucket trucks, lashing machines, and other lineman tools.
- Conduct field inspections and troubleshoot issues to ensure quality installations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and project documentation.
- Respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
- Travel to various job sites, including occasional overnight stays.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Telecom Lineman, with expertise in lashing, pole transfers, and pole installation/removal. Past or current power lineman experience is a strong asset for pole placement tasks.
- Technical Skills: Fully competent in NESC standards and telecom installation techniques, including lashing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Licenses: Clean driving record required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.Flagging Card preffered.
- Safety: Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry-standard safety practices; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, lift heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Telecom Technician certifications, OSHA 10, or equivalent.
- Availability: Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
- Additional Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment; ability to read blueprints and schematics is a plus.

Pay: $21.00 - $37.00 per hour
