Position Summary: Responsible, skilled CDL Operator to handle all company hauling, deliveries, and yard logistics with efficiency and precision. This position plays a critical role in keeping projects on schedule by ensuring materials, debris, and equipment move safely and on time. The ideal candidate takes ownership of yard organization, communicates clearly with operations, and maintains professional driving and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate company dump truck to transport materials such as stone, soil, mulch, and aggregates to and from job sites.
- Plan and execute efficient daily routes while adjusting for weather, site readiness, or urgent crew needs.
- Coordinate delivery timing and material requirements with the Operations Manager and crew leaders.
- Track and confirm all deliveries within Aspire and maintain accurate project allocations.
- Remove debris and spoils from project sites and transport to designated dump or burn areas in compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain company yard, access roads, and staging areas to ensure they remain clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform grading, back-dragging, and minor repairs on driveways or yard surfaces as needed.
- Pick up materials or equipment from suppliers when vendor delivery is unavailable or time-sensitive.
- Verify material type and quantity before leaving supplier locations.
- Report any truck, trailer, or equipment maintenance needs promptly.
- Support multiple field crews with on-demand hauling or emergency delivery needs as they arise.
- Maintain professional communication and represent Local Landscapers positively on and off job sites.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating dump or similar heavy trucks.
- Experience with skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with landscape construction materials and delivery logistics.
- Working knowledge of Aspire or similar job-tracking software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage time efficiently.
