The Purchasing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Titan Circuits’ PCB assembly manufacturing operations by ensuring material flow to the production floor in an AS9100-driven environment. This role is highly integrated with daily operations and is responsible for executing procurement activities that directly impact production schedules, throughput, and on-time delivery to customers.
This position requires a hands-on, operations-driven mindset with a strong sense of urgency, the ability to solve real-time supply issues, and close collaboration with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams.
- Execute day-to-day purchasing activities to support production schedules and prevent SMT/assembly line downtime
- Monitor ERP / CETEC outputs, released BOM demand, inventory, open purchase orders, and production schedules to proactively manage material availability
- Expedite critical materials and resolve shortages in real time
- Maintain visibility of high-risk or constrained electronic components, PCB fabrication, outside services, and supplier promise dates
- Partner with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams
- Participate in production meetings to review shortages, schedule risk, and material priorities
- Serve as primary procurement contact for Operations on assigned material issues and shortages
- Support Engineering with urgent builds, ECO-driven changes, and documentation updates
- Place purchase orders, obtain supplier acknowledgments, and hold suppliers accountable to delivery, quality, documentation, and certification requirements
- Drive escalations and corrective actions if required
- Develop contingency sourcing plans and support alternate-source qualification with Engineering and Quality as needed
- Balance inventory levels to support production while limiting excess and obsolete material
- Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without creating material risk to production or customer requirements
- Identify recurring supply chain issues and implement solutions
- Improve material flow, supplier reliability, shortage visibility, and buying discipline
- Support process improvements that strengthen on-time delivery and execution discipline
- Maintain accurate ERP / CETEC data, open PO status, and supplier promise dates
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, supplier documentation expectations, and applicable quality-system requirements
