This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DMHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Drive, Conway, SC 29526.
This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.
Under general supervision, employee will provide assessment/counseling/interventions/treatment to patients with serious mental health illnesses, developmental disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders and will ensure linkages for therapeutic needs to promote well-being for patients. Position will cover 3 counties in the WCMH catchment are to include Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg. This position is considered essential and the employee in this role may be asked to report to work even if the center is closed during an emergency.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II:

Using developmentally adapted evidence-based practices provide individual psychotherapy services to children, adolescents and adults.

Caregiver coaching and family therapy is delivered to support skill development at home and in the community.

Conduct intake and assessments and treatment planning using IDD/MI/SED appropriate tools and strategies.

Use trauma informed non coercive crisis de-escalation strategies.
-
Develop Personal Safety Plan while conducting modified suicide risk and crisis assessment that consider communication limitations.

Modify therapeutic materials to meet the cognitive, sensory and communication needs of each clinic while incorporating visual support, social stories modeling, video modeling and structured teaching strategies into therapy.

Ensure patients are seen as per LOC guidelines and address patient barriers to service, while confirming crisis are staffed, and there is internal and external customer satisfaction.

Meet patient care hour and documentation standards.

Work closely with families, caregivers, case managers, school personnel, residential staff, ABA providers and other treatment team members.

Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and provide input.

Coordinate care to ensure consistency across settings.

Complete documentation in accordance with QI policies and services/contracts to patients.

Oversee billing disallowances and keep to a minimum.

Produce outcome and progress summaries that reflect patient improvement.

Responsible for maintaining objectives that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time limited. Writes objectives and interventions that address patients SNAP benefits if needed.

Adhere to Center, OMH, State, Federal, Local compliance policies, procedures and responsibilities. Make good faith effort to report violations and will not intentionally violate laws regulating the provision of health care. Must adhere to Code of Conduct at all times.

Participate in on going professional development and maintains licensure and certifications.

Satisfy all training requirements, attend supervisions and participate in other meetings as required.
