Meat Prep Team Member

Position Summary
The Meat Prep Team Member is responsible for supporting kitchen and food production operations through meat preparation, packaging, inventory management, quality control, and equipment maintenance. This role helps ensure meat products are processed, portioned, labeled, and stored according to company standards and food safety regulations while maintaining product consistency and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced food production environment while maintaining cleanliness, accuracy, and compliance with all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations

Process and prepare meat products according to company recipes, procedures, and production standards.

Maintain meat quality standards throughout preparation, marinating, packaging, and storage processes.

Assist with inventory stock management and communicate shortages or product concerns to management.

Prepare and marinate products according to established recipes and operational procedures.

Support overall kitchen and production operations as needed during daily activities.
Packaging Manufacturing

Weigh products accurately according to portioning and packaging standards.

Package and label products correctly to ensure consistency and compliance.
-
Ensure proper portion control and adherence to company portioning guidelines.
-
Label and date all products accurately according to food safety and operational requirements.

Maintain awareness of packaging quality and product presentation standards.
Inventory Management Quality Control

Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) methods to maintain freshness and reduce waste.

Ensure proper labeling, dating, storage, and rotation of all products.

Monitor food safety practices and maintain awareness of quality control standards throughout production processes.

Inspect products for freshness, quality, and compliance with company expectations.

Ensure all food handling and storage procedures comply with health and food safety regulations.
Equipment Maintenance

Perform daily routine inspections of production and kitchen equipment.

Assist with preventative maintenance activities to support operational readiness.

Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report repair concerns to management promptly.

Follow all compliance, health, and workplace safety regulations related to equipment use.

Assist with organizing and managing spare parts and operational equipment supplies as needed.
Work Area Management

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production and kitchen work environment.

Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of prep areas, equipment, utensils, and workstations.

Ensure operational tools, ingredients, and supplies remain properly stocked and organized.

Assist with end-of-shift cleaning, organization, and production reset procedures.
Requirements

Previous meat prep, food production, kitchen, butcher, or food service experience preferred.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, labeling, and product handling procedures preferred.

Ability to follow recipes, portioning standards, and operational procedures accurately.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
