About the Role
The Camden Bagel Cafe is looking for a reliable, hardworking Baker's Assistant to join our production team. Every morning, you'll help bake our full lineup of bagels and an assortment of pastries from scratch, and you'll also help prep and produce bagels ahead for the coming days. If you like the idea of starting your day early, working with your hands, and being done by early afternoon with the rest of your day free, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
- Bake bagels fresh each morning following our recipes and processes
- Prepare and bake an assortment of pastries alongside the bagel bake
- Mix, shape, and prep bagel dough for upcoming production days
- Monitor ovens, proofing, and boiling steps to ensure consistent quality
- Keep the bakery clean, organized, and up to food safety standards
- Manage ingredient inventory and flag when supplies are running low
- Work as part of a small, close-knit team to keep morning production on schedule
What We're Looking For
- No baking experience required — we'll teach you everything you need to know
- Reliable and consistent — someone we can count on to show up on time, every time
- Comfortable with early morning shifts (start times around 4–5 AM)
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs
- Attention to detail and a willingness to follow recipes and processes precisely
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
