Brevard Public Schools is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join our Education Technology team. The ideal candidate will be expected to work with minimum supervision, program fluently, and handle a wide range of programming and system problems unassisted.
The Systems Analyst I is responsible for planning, preparing, and programming systems and activities which are necessary for producing reports, data, and system specifications by the use of department specified software and hardware. This role is also expected to assist lower-level Systems Analysts and Computer Programmers.
Additionally, the Systems Analyst II is expected to prepare internal system and programming specifications as it pertains to the District’s needs.
The Systems Analyst III is additionally expected to, a) seek and analyze district computer software as needed and prepare complete systems analysis, including internal system and programming specifications, b) have in depth knowledge of programming practices, and c) interact with the user community to achieve computer goals.
This position provides an option of remote work, typically 2 days per week. The remote option is subject to change per management’s discretion.
Job Requirements:
SYSTEMS ANALYST I
- Associate’s degree required in Computer Science is required
- Four (4) years’ relevant experience in related field required
- Hardware and software platforms experience consistent with the District’s Information Systems Service Strategic Plan
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- SUBSTITUTION: An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for Associate’s degree with the approval from the Director (exercising this substitution would require a total of 8 years of relevant work experience)
- Pay range for Systems Analyst I: $49,686.88 to $61,986.88
SYSTEMS ANALYST II
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Computer Science preferred
- Four (4) years’ relevant experience in related field required
- Hardware and software platforms experience consistent with the District’s Information Systems Service Strategic Plan
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- SUBSTITUTIONs: An additional four (4) years of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree may substitute for Bachelor’s degree with the approval from the Director (exercising this substitution would require a total of 8 years of relevant work experience) OR
- BPS Systems Analyst I with a minimum of two (2) years’ BPS service may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years relevant experience required, with the approval of the Director and concurrence of the Cabinet Level approver
- Pay range for System Analyst II: $54,271.70 to $67,452.18
SYSTEMS ANALYST III
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Computer Science preferred
- Five (5) years relevant experience in related field required
- Hardware and software platforms experience consistent with the District’s Information Systems Service Strategic Plan
- SUBSTITUTIONS: An additional four (4) years relevant experience and an Associate’s degree may substitute for Bachelor’s degree with the approval from the Director (exercising this substitution would require a total of 9 years of relevant work experience) OR
- BPS Systems Analyst II with a minimum of three (3) years’ service may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years relevant experience required, with the approval of the Director and concurrence of the Cabinet Level approver
- Pay range for Systems Analyst III: $58,436.28 to $72,417.28
Job Preferences: Multiple years of experience in ANY, some, or all of the following areas is preferred:
- Experience working in the K-12 education field with Student information systems (SIS) and/or Business software solutions (ERP)
- Experience working at the system administration level with SIS or ERP solutions
- Ability to write comprehensive data reports using SQL
- Expertise querying large data sets stored in various tables/files with complex joins to stakeholder requests
- Experience meeting the FL Department of Education survey requirements
