Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Oversee patient assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs, medical history, and current health status using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans for diverse patient populations, including those requiring acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, or long-term care services.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all medical records and documentation.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives by monitoring clinical practices to meet standards such as NCQA or JCAHO accreditation requirements.
- Facilitate discharge planning, medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheterization care, and wound management following aseptic techniques.
- Conduct regular patient assessments involving physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations (e.g., sonography or laboratory testing), and physiological monitoring like ventilator management or cardiac catheterization support.
- Oversee utilization review and management activities to optimize patient outcomes while controlling costs.
- Provide guidance on complex cases involving trauma (Level I & II Trauma Centers), ICU patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Support staff in emergency situations such as airway management or acute pain management while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration; supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Extensive clinical experience in settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, or long-term care facilities.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within fast-paced environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, pharmacology related to medication administration and injections.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator support), seniors (memory care), individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs, specimen collection/processing, sterile techniques like suturing or phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing procedures essential for maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists (e.g., cardiology for cardiac catheterization), case managers and other healthcare professionals. Pay: $43.00 - $48.00 per hour
