Procedural / Sedation Nurse
We are looking for a Procedural / Sedation Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient surgical facility full time. Ideally, the incoming Registered Nurse has experience in Pain Management procedures and Sedation in an outpatient facility, and private practice clinic. Join our dynamic and well-respected team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing Pain Management procedures under conscious sedation in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Gather clinical information and assess patients prior to procedures.
- Confirm written orders, consents, and lab work are completed and documented in accordance with facility policies prior to procedures
- Assist in procedure room preparation
- Administer medications and moderate sedation to patients as directed per physician’s orders, and in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Provide and document ongoing patient information to physician and clinical team during procedures including vitals, cardiac monitoring, and pain status
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license with relevant certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS).
- Preferred Background in various nursing specialties including but not limited to:
- Critical care - Emergency medicine - Geriatrics - Hospice & palliative medicine - Behavioral health -
- Proficient in patient assessment techniques, medication administration, and infection control practices.
- Proficient in intravenous catheter placement
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and basic life support protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
