We are looking for a reliable licensed Physical Therapist who wants to help us continue to grow. We currently have 3 locations with 2 offices in Hagerstown, MD and 1 office in Waynesboro, PA. Fyzical Therapy and Balance Center is an innovative company that is growing at a fast pace. We are looking for a full-time Physical Therapist to join our team. At Fyzical, we are committed to providing quality care for all of our patients as well as supporting your growth and success as a Physical Therapist. We are an outpatient physical therapy office with 2 convenient locations and a third office coming soon. At Fyzical, we treat all types of injuries and specialize in balance/vestibular therapy with the opportunity to become certified through the Fyzical College.
The Physical Therapist plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
*Provides patient care following established protocols and patient care guidelines.
*Responsible for a firm understanding and the implementation of our behavioral model (ARC) at all times while practicing.
*Responsible for timely documentation, including but not limited to daily notes, weekly workers compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries and incident reports.
*Responsible for documenting in a compliant fashion that is per company policy and state and federal guidelines.
*Responsible for assuring that patients are treated promptly per their scheduled appointments.
* Responsible for conveying to patients the importance of complying with established plans of care, including home exercise programs, and minimizing cancellations and no-shows of appointments. This is tracked independently with the expectation of achieving a 90% appointment-kept rate.
*Responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care.
*Responsible for the delegation of appropriate patient care activities to the physical therapist assistant that is following that employee's skill level and deemed appropriate by the state practice act.
*Responsible for the supervision of aforementioned physical therapist assistant activities.
*Responsible for the delegation and supervision of non-patient care activities of the clinical aide.
*Consults with referring physicians as needed through documentation and as well as verbally.
*Responsible for pursuing continuing education in the form of formal classes, reading of periodicals and other literature.
*Responsible for always maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct that best represents the company.
*Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.
*Responsible for abiding by the company's values statement and social contract.
*Handles front desk functions as appropriate.
*Reviews Physician's referral (Prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
*Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
*Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
*Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
*Instructs, motivates and assists patients in performing various physical activities and in the use of assistance and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
*Administers treatment involving the application of physical agents.
*Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.
*Records treatment, response, and progress in the patient's chart or enters information into the computer.
*Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
*Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to orthotist.
*Confers with physicians and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment programs, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patients' health care.
*Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, aides, and students.
*Plans and constructs lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.
*Plans and develops physical therapy research programs and participants in conducting research.
*Maximize office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
