We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crew Forman to oversee construction projects and lead a team of skilled workers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of construction management principles. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and safety protocols while ensuring high-quality work.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the construction crew to ensure project objectives are met in a timely fashion
- Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, equipment usage, and safety practices.
- Ensure installation is in accordance with design.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure communication between customer and management of project progression is on target.
- Coordinate, schedule and perform building inspections according to scope.
- Daily reporting to management on job progress, staff productivity, and materials/equipment needs.
Qualifications
- This is a hands-on physical position requiring heavy lifting, digging, equipment preparation, preparing and stocking of materials for each job; Must be able to lift 50-60 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day; ability to adjust to seasonal temperatures
- 5 years experience in construction management or a related field.
- Ability to read and follow engineered plans.
- Experience with supervision of concrete flatwork preferred.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
- 2A/1C Hoisting license, preferred
- OSHA-30 preferred with commitment to maintaining safety standards on-site.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, and management.
- Ability to travel/potential overnight on occasion
- Valid drivers license and means of transportation; Must be able to drive with a trailer.
